Li Fengbiao
Li Fengbiao (; born October 1959) is a general (''Jiang (rank), Shangjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). He is the current political commissar of the Western Theater Command, one of Theater commands of the People's Liberation Army, the five military regions of the People's Liberation Army. He was a member of the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Li was born in Anxin County, Hebei, in October 1959. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army in 1978. He was chief of staff of the 15th Airborne Corps in 2007 before serving as commander of the 15th Army (now People's Liberation Army Air Force Airborne Corps) in July 2011. In December 2014, he was assigned deputy commander of the Chengdu Military Region, one of seven military districts in China. He has been serving as Secretary-General of National Defense Mobilization Commission since December 2021, and formerly served as deputy commander of the People's Liberation Army Ground Force and formerly served as commander of the People's Liberation Army Air Force Airborne Corps. Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. Chengdu Military Region
The Chengdu Military Region was one of seven military districts and is located in the southwest of the People's Republic of China, covering Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and the Xizang/Tibet Autonomous Region. It includes some of the area previously within the Kunming Military Region and has its headquarters in Chengdu. It was probably established in 1955. The Tibet Military Region was reduced to the status of a district in 1971. The region was disbanded during the 2015 People's Republic of China military reform and become part of the Western Theater Command.
