Leviathan Movement
The Leviathan Movement ( sr-cyrl, Покрет Левијатан, Pokret Levijatan) is a neo-fascist political organization in Serbia, that identifies as an animal rights organization. It is led by Pavle Bihali. History It was formed in 2015 as an animal rights organization that seek to protect animals. In 2016, the movement became popular when videos of the members of organization rescuing animals showed up on social media, as well as videos of them offering compensation for information on animal abusers. Initially, the movement only focused on animal rights issues, exposing animal abusers, and taking their animals away from them. However, the movement has shifted from solely being an animal rights group to openly talking about political issues, mainly illegal immigration. Pavle Bihali
Pavle Bihali Gavrin (, born 29 January 1982) is a Serbian animal rights activist, far-right politician and the leader of the Leviathan Movement. Early life He was born in 1982 in Belgrade, and is a member of an influential Serbian-Jewish family. According to the official documents, his grandfather, was executed by the Gestapo in 1941 during the Nazi German occupation of Serbia during World War II, however he claims that the Yugoslav communists killed him. He is the grand-nephew of the late Yugoslav, and Serbian academic, Oto Bihalji-Merin. As a child, he played a minor role in a Serbian TV series, ''Srećni ljudi''. Far-right Politics In Serbia
Far-right politics in Serbia emerged shortly before the break-up of Yugoslavia and has been present ever since. Its manifestation mostly focuses on national and religious factors. After the World War I, the far-right in Yugoslavia received little amount of support, although politicians and groups alike had existed. Milan Stojadinović, a Yugoslav Serb politician, served as Prime Minister of Yugoslavia from 1935 to 1939 and saw fascism as an ideological role model for his premiership. Additionally, Dimitrije Ljotić headed Zbor, a party that was inspired by Italian fascism, anti-communism, and antisemitism. Ljotić also cooperated with Bishop Nikolaj Velimirović, an antisemite who also promoted anti-Western ideas. Obrenovac
Obrenovac ( sr-cyr, Обреновац, ) is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. According to the 2011 census results, the municipality has a population of 71,419 inhabitants, while the urban area has 24,568 inhabitants. The largest Serbian thermal power plant TPP Nikola Tesla is located on the outskirts of the municipality. Romani people, or Roma ( sr, Роми, Romi), are the third largest ethnic group in Serbia, numbering 147,604 (2.1%) according to the 2011 census. The Serbian Progressive Party ( sr-cyrl, Српска напредна странка, Srpska napredna stranka, SNS) has been the ruling political party of Serbia since 2012. Bloc Party (politics)
Bloc Party are an English rock band, composed of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, sampler), Russell Lissack (lead guitar, keyboards), Justin Harris (bass guitar, keyboards, saxophones, backing vocals) and Louise Bartle (drums, percussion). Former members Matt Tong and Gordon Moakes left the band in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
