Levi Ashcroft
Levi Ashcroft (born 18 December 2006) is an Australian rules footballer currently playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted to them with Pick 5 in the 2024 Telstra AFL Draft, under the father-son rule. Early life Ashcroft was born on 18 December 2006 on the Gold Coast, to parents Rebecca and Marcus. He has two siblings, one of which is fellow professional footballer Will Ashcroft. His father, Marcus Ashcroft, is a three-time AFL premiership player who competed in 318 games for the Brisbane Bears/Lions over the course of his 15-year professional career. While based on the Gold Coast, Levi attended All Saints Anglican School and began playing junior football in 2014 for the Broadbeach Cats in the local under-9s competition. Will Ashcroft (born 6 May 2004) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was taken as pick number 2, under the father–son rule. Ashcroft is a premiership player and Norm Smith Medallist, claiming both distinctions in Brisbane's 2024 premiership victory against the Sydney Swans. The father–son rule is a rule that allows clubs preferential recruiting access to the sons of players who have made a major past contribution to the club in Australian rules football, most notably in the Australian Football League. Morningside Australian Football Club
The Morningside Australian Football Club, nicknamed the Panthers, is an Australian rules football club based at Jack Esplen Oval in the suburb of Hawthorne in Brisbane. The club consists of Masters, Amateurs, Women's, Junior and Senior football sections. Its senior team competed in the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) competition from 2011 to 2013 and now is a member club of the Queensland Australian Football League.
