''Levende Billeder'' ( da, Live Pictures) was a film magazine in Denmark which was in circulation between 1975 and 1997. Its subtitle was ''et månedsblad om film og tv'' ( da, a monthly magazine about film and television). History and profile ''Levende Billeder'' was first published in April 1975. It was started as a successor to the film review magazine ''Kirke og Film'' which existed between 1945 and 1968. The publisher of ''Levende Billeder'' was Foreningen Levende Billeder. The magazine was subject to persistent financial problems during its run. The magazine folded in 1997, and its license was sold to '' Politikens film supplement. Danish Language
Danish (; , ) is a North Germanic language spoken by about six million people, principally in and around Denmark. Communities of Danish speakers are also found in Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the northern German region of Southern Schleswig, where it has minority language status. ''Politiken'' is a leading Danish daily broadsheet newspaper, published by JP/Politikens Hus in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was founded in 1884 and played a role in the formation of the Danish Social Liberal Party. Since 1970 it has been independent of the party but maintains a liberal stance. It now runs an online newspaper, ''politiken.dk''. The paper's design has won several international awards, and a number of its journalists have won the Cavling Prize. ''Den Store Danske Encyklopædi'' (''The Great Danish Encyclopedia'') is the most comprehensive contemporary Danish language encyclopedia. The 20 volumes of the encyclopedia were published successively between 1994 and 2001; a one-volume supplement was published in 2002 and two index volumes in 2003. The work comprises 115,000 articles, ranging in size from single-line cross references to the 130-page entry on Denmark. The articles were written by a staff of about 4,000 academic experts led by editor-in-chief Jørn Lund. Articles longer than a few dozen lines are signed by their authors. Many articles are illustrated.
