Lev Kolodub
Lev Mykolajovych Kolodub (; 1 May 1930 – 23 February 2019) was a Ukrainian composer and teacher, Honored Artist of Ukraine (1973), People's Artist of Ukraine (1993), recipient of the Shevchenko National Prize (2010), and head of the Ukrainian Music Foundation (1988—1994) Kyiv branch of National Union of Composers of Ukraine (1994—1999). Biography Lev Kolodub was born on 1 May 1930 in Kyiv. His mother was an opera singer, and her grandmother was a music teacher. Zhanna Kolodub
Zhanna Yuhymivna Kolodub (*1 January 1930 Vinnytsia) is a celebrated Ukrainian composer and teacher. Biography Zhanna nglish: JeanneVinnytsia, later Kolodub, was born in 1930 into a family of musicians in the city of Vinnytsia. She studied violin and piano at Kyiv's Gliere School of Music, graduating in 1949. In 1954 she graduated from the Kyiv Conservatory as a master (docent). She studied piano with Konstantin Mikhailov. When she was 24 she began to pursue composition as a vocation. Her composition teachers were Professor Liatoshinsky and the man who was to become her husband, Levko Kolodub (1930–2019). At the conservatory was became a lecturer in 1952, then associate professor (1985) and finally professor (1997). In 1995 the conservatory became the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.A. Wind Instrument
A wind instrument is a musical instrument that contains some type of resonator (usually a tube) in which a column of air is set into vibration by the player blowing into (or over) a mouthpiece set at or near the end of the resonator. The pitch of the vibration is determined by the length of the tube and by manual modifications of the effective length of the vibrating column of air. In the case of some wind instruments, sound is produced by blowing through a reed; others require buzzing into a metal mouthpiece, while yet others require the player to blow into a hole at an edge, which splits the air column and creates the sound. The ''Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine'' (), abbreviated EMU, is a multi-volume national encyclopedia of Ukraine. It is an academic project of the Institute of Encyclopaedic Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Today, the reference work is available in a print edition and online. Chamber Music
Chamber music is a form of classical music that is composed for a small group of Musical instrument, instruments—traditionally a group that could fit in a Great chamber, palace chamber or a large room. Most broadly, it includes any art music that is performed by a small number of performers, with one performer to a part (in contrast to orchestral music, in which each string part is played by a number of performers). However, by convention, it usually does not include solo instrument performances. Because of its intimate nature, chamber music has been described as "the music of friends".
