Maria-Letizia Bonaparte ( Ramolino; 24 August 1750 or 1749 – 2 February 1836), commonly known as Letizia Bonaparte, was a Corsican noblewoman and the mother of Napoleon I, Emperor of the French. Due to her status as the Emperor's mother, she was granted the title "Madame Mère" (French for "Madame Mother"). Born in Ajaccio, Corsica, then part of the Republic of Genoa, she married Carlo Buonaparte in 1764. The couple had thirteen children, of whom eight survived to adulthood. Letizia Quaranta (30 December 1892 – 9 January 1977), also known with the stage name of Laetitia Quaranta, was an Italian film actress. She was mainly active in the silent era of cinema. Since 2006 she has been a professor of the Law Faculty at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven/Louvain University. Letizia Bertoni (born 5 March 1937) is a former Italian hurdler who competed at two Olympic Games. Biography At the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, Bertoni finished fifth in the 4 × 100 metres relay and also competed in the 200 metres. Bertoni finished third behind Pat Nutting in the 80 metres hurdles event at the British 1963 WAAA Championships. At her home Olympics, the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, she was once again finished in 5th place during the 4 × 100 metres relay, in addition to competing in the 80 metres hurdles.
