"Let Robeson Sing" is a song by Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers. It was released in September 2001 by record label Epic as the fourth and final single from their sixth studio album, '' Know Your Enemy''. It reached number 19 in the UK Singles Chart. Content The song is a tribute to the black American actor, singer and civil rights campaigner Paul Robeson. It shares its title with a book by Phil Cope and others, published jointly by the Paul Robeson Cymru Committee and the Bevan Foundation in 2001, with a reprint being published by the National Library of Wales in 2003. Manic Street Preachers
Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Wales, Welsh Rock music, rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, in 1986. The band consists of Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics) and cousins James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Sean Moore (musician), Sean Moore (drums, percussion, soundscapes). They form a key part of the 1990s Welsh Cool Cymru cultural movement. ''Louder Than War'' is a concert film of the Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers' performance at the Karl Marx Theatre, Havana, Cuba on 17 February 2001. It was released on DVD on 24 September the same year by Epic Records. The concert was the first time a western rock band had played in Cuba. Fidel Castro was in attendance, and met the band before the concert. The film's title came from a conversation between the band and Castro; after the band warned him that the concert would be very loud, Castro responded (through his translator), "It cannot be louder than war, can it?" The concert featured performances of several songs from the band's 2001 album '' Know Your Enemy'', some of which have not been performed since. Super Furry Animals are a Welsh rock band formed in Cardiff in 1993. Gruffudd Maredudd Bowen Rhys (; born 18 July 1970) is a Welsh musician, composer, producer, filmmaker and author.
