Let It Be Morning (film)
''Let It Be Morning'' (, ) is a 2021 drama film directed by Eran Kolirin, based on the Hebrew-language novel ''Let It Be Morning'' by Palestinian author Sayed Kashua. It was produced by Dori Media of Israel, in co-production with France's Les Films du Poisson. The cast is predominately Palestinian and most of the language is Arabic. In June 2021, the film was selected to compete in the ''Un Certain Regard'' section at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. The Palestinian cast opposed the classification of the film as "Israeli," and withdrew from the Cannes Film Festival in protest. Israel selected the film as its entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards. Eran Kolirin
Eran Kolirin (; born 4 November 1973) is an Israeli screenwriter and film director. In 2004, he directed the feature-length television drama, ''The Long Journey''. His cinema directorial debut, ''The Band's Visit'' (2007), was a critical success, winning eight Awards of the Israeli Film Academy and prizes at several international film festivals. Kolirin himself won the Israeli Film Academy's awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay. His second film, '' The Exchange'', was in competition at the 68th Venice International Film Festival in September 2011. Salim Daw (also spelled Salim Dau, ; born 1950) is a Palestinian Israeli actor. With appearances in more than 60 works of stage, television and film, he is perhaps best known for portraying Mohamed Al-Fayed on seasons 5 and 6 of Netflix's ''The Crown.'' Early life and education Daw was born in Bi'ina, a Palestinian village in Israel in 1950; he is a Palestinian citizen of Israel. This is a list of submissions to the 94th Academy Awards for the Best International Feature Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The International Feature Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The category was previously called the Best Foreign Language Film, but this was changed in April 2019 to Best International Feature Film, after the Academy deemed the word "Foreign" to be outdated.
