Lester B. Pearson
Lester Bowles Pearson (23 April 1897 – 27 December 1972) was a Canadian politician, diplomat, statesman, and scholar who served as the 14th prime minister of Canada from 1963 to 1968. He also served as Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, leader of the Liberal party from 1958 to 1968 and as Leader of the Official Opposition (Canada), leader of the Official Opposition from 1958 to 1963. Born in Newtonbrook, Ontario (now part of Toronto), Pearson pursued a career in the Global Affairs Canada, Department of External Affairs and served as the List of ambassadors of Canada to the United States, Canadian ambassador to the United States from 1944 to 1946.
