Leslie Rubinstein
Leslie Rubinstein (Pueblo, CO, June 21, 1939 — Glenview, IL, September 22, 2007) was an American music critic and journalist. She was a regular contributor to ''Opera News'' magazine from the mid-1970s through the 1990s. Her first article with the magazine was about stand-by singers at the Metropolitan Opera in 1975. Some of her other work for the magazine included featured stories on Luciano Pavarotti, Jan Peerce, Eleanor Steber and the filming of Francesco Rosi's ''Carmen ''Carmen'' () is an opera in four acts by the French composer Georges Bizet. ''The Oxford Companion to Music'' defines music criticism as "the intellectual activity of formulating judgments on the value and degree of excellence of individual works of music, or whole groups or genres". Francesco Rosi
Francesco Rosi (; 15 November 1922 – 10 January 2015) was an Italian film director. His film '' The Mattei Affair'' won the Palme d'Or at the 1972 Cannes Film Festival. Rosi's films, especially those of the 1960s and 1970s, often appeared to have political messages. While the topics for his later films became less politically oriented and more angled toward literature, he continued to direct until 1997, his last film being the adaptation of Primo Levi's book, '' The Truce''. At the 2008 Berlin International Film Festival 13 of his films were screened, in a section reserved for film-makers of outstanding quality and achievement.
