Leslie Church is a Canadian politician who has served as a Member of Parliament (Canada), member of Parliament from the Electoral district (Canada), electoral district of Toronto-St. Paul's since 2025. Career Church is a lawyer and a former diplomat. She previously served as chief of staff to Chrystia Freeland. Church ran in the 2024 Toronto—St. Paul's federal by-election, and lost to Conservative Party of Canada, conservative candidate Don Stewart (Ontario politician), Don Stewart. She ran again in the 2025 Canadian federal election, and defeated Stewart on April 28, 2025. Following her victory, Church made comparisons between her two campaigns as "night and day," after the resignation of Justin Trudeau. Electoral record References
