	Stephen Lesieur Stephen Lesieur or Le Sieur (fl. 1575 –1640) was a Swiss-born English ambassador to Denmark, Florence, and the Holy Roman Empire. Career Lesieur was born in Geneva, came to England in 1575, and was first employed as a servant of Sir Philip Sidney. In March 1583 an envoy in London collecting money for the church in Geneva, Jean Maillet, met Lesieur and they discussed efforts to raise a ransom for the English diplomat Daniel Rogers, who had been captured by Maarten Schenck van Nydeggen. Lesieur came to Edinburgh as the secretary of Robert Sidney in August 1588 and made the acquaintance of a Flemish mining engineer, Eustachius Roche. The Danish council was angered by a letter from Queen Elizabeth which he brought in October 1599, and they claimed to believe it came from private persons, rather than the queen or her advisors. 	Georges Lesieur Georges Lesieur (1848–1931), born in Paris ( France), was a French businessman and founder of the brand of edible oils of the same name (Huiles Lesieur). He married Esther Dupuis with whom he had five children. Lesieur was born into a family of farmers based in Septeuil ( Yvelines department), a city of which his father was the Mayor. Career at Desmarais Frères Lesieur started working at the age of 15 as a shop assistant for Desmarais Frères (DF), an industrial company specialized in purification and distribution of vegetal oils for lighting purposes. Life The daughter of Hébert Lesieur and Marie Calliaud, Lesieur made her debut at the Théâtre de Marseille in 1816, as a 'sujet de la danse'. In the course of a production of the ballet ''La Naissance de Vénus'' (''The Birth of Venus'') in July 1817 she was noted for turning her back on the public, in an inconvenient attitude, but she was pardoned for this and quickly became Marseilles's favourite dancer.
