Les Discrets
Les Discrets is a French post-rock project created and led by Fursy Teyssier as a "platform gathering music and art." Teyssier was the sole member of the band until 2009, when he was joined by Audrey Hadorn and Winterhalter. Les Discrets released ''Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées'' in March 2010, '' Ariettes oubliées...'' in February 2012. Winterhalter left the band in 2013 to focus on his duties for Alcest. The band's third album '' Prédateurs'', was released in April 2017, which saw a transition towards an indie rock and trip hop-oriented sound. The band considers its name to mean "Those who keep silent", although "The Discreet Ones" would be more an accurate translation. History Les Discrets was formed in 2003 as a musical side-project alongside Fursy's other band Phest. Fursy, who is also an illustrator and film director, wanted to express concepts in music similar to those found within his art. Fellow French musicians, Winterhalter and Audrey Hadorn, soon joined the ...

Split EP
A split album (or split) is a music album that includes tracks by two or more separate artists. There are also singles and EPs of the same variety, which are often called "split singles" and "split EPs" respectively. Split albums differ from "various artists" compilation albums in that they generally include several tracks of each artist, or few artists with one or two tracks each, instead of multiple artists with only one or two tracks each. History Split albums were initially done on vinyl records, with music from one artist on one side of the record and music from a second artist on the opposite side. As vinyl albums declined as a mass medium, CD issues followed the practice of combining music from two artists. Since the early 1980s, the format has been used widely by independent record labels, and artists in punk rock, emo, hardcore, grindcore, black metal, noise and indie rock circles. Splits usually receive an underground fanbase even if the artists featured are mainstr ...

Post-rock
Post-rock is a subgenre of experimental rock that emphasizes Texture (music), texture, atmosphere, and non-traditional song structures over conventional rock techniques. Post-rock artists often combine rock instrumentation and rock stylings with Electronic musical instrument, electronics and digital production as a means of enabling the exploration of textures, timbres and different styles. Vocals, when present, are often used as an instrumental layer, with many bands opting for entirely instrumental compositions. The genre began in Indie music scene, indie and underground music scenes, but deviated. The term ''post-rock'' was coined by music journalist Simon Reynolds, being popularized in a review of Bark Psychosis' 1994 album ''Hex (Bark Psychosis album), Hex'', and he later expanded the concept as music "using rock instrumentation for non-rock purposes". The term has since developed to refer to bands oriented around dramatic and suspense-driven instrumental rock, making the t ...

Studio Album
An album is a collection of audio recordings (e.g., music) issued on a medium such as compact disc (CD), Phonograph record, vinyl (record), audio tape (like 8-track cartridge, 8-track or Cassette tape, cassette), or digital distribution, digital. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records (78s) collected in a bound book resembling a photo album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl LP record, long-playing (LP) records played at  rpm. The album was the dominant form of recorded music expression and consumption from the mid-1960s to the early 21st century, a period known as the ''album era''. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though album sales in the 21st-century have mostly focused on CD and MP3 formats. The 8-track tape was the first tape format widely used alongside vinyl from 1965 until being phased out by 1983, being gradually supplanted by the cassette tape throughout the 1970s and early 1980s; the popul ...
