Lervig Aktiebryggeri
Lervig Aktiebryggeri is a Norwegian brewery. It was founded in 2003 in Stavanger when the production of Tou (brewery), Tou beer was moved to Oslo. From 2003 to 2005 the beer was produced by Macks Ølbryggeri in Tromsø. In 2005 the production was moved to Hillevåg in Stavanger. In the first years the brewery mostly produced pilsner as a substitute for the Tou pilsner. In 2010 the brewery hired the American Mike Murphy as their head brewer, and made a turn towards craft beers. Heavy imperial stouts and hoppy New England IPAs are their most popular beers. After they started producing NEIPAs the brewery has complained about the distribution to the government-owned liquor monopoly Vinmonopolet. An IPA the brewery produced in January 2017 did not go for sale until March. From June 1, 2017 the dairy company Tine (company), TINE started distributing the beer with their refrigerated trucks. TINE SA () is the largest Norwegian dairy product cooperative consisting of around 15,000 farmers and 5,600 employees. As of 2013, it has a revenue of 20.4 billion Norwegian kroner (NOK) ($3.41bn, £2.04bn, €2.50bn). The parent company, TINE SA, is a cooperative society owned by its suppliers, the milk producers who deliver milk to the company. Kristoffer Stensrud
Kristoffer Stensrud (1953 – 18 September 2021) was one of Skagen Funds founders. He served as managing director from 1993 to 2001 and Investment Director from 2002 to 2007. He was also the portfolio manager of the SKAGEN Kon-Tiki equity fund. Kristoffer Stensrud was born in 1953 in Trondheim, Norway. He studied financial planning and monetary policy at the Copenhagen Business School. He began his career as chief analyst (1979–1983) at Børsinformation ApS in Copenhagen and later became portfolio manager (1983–1985) with Børsinformation I.R. (UK). In 1985, he joined Stafonds (later SR-Fonds) as an analyst for four years and later joined Carnegie-Jensen in Copenhagen in 1990 as a chief analyst. In 1993, Kristoffer founded SKAGEN Funds. Beavertown Brewery
Beavertown Brewery is a British brewery based in Tottenham, London. It was acquired by Heineken in 2022. Beavertown was founded in 2011 by Logan Plant, the son of Robert Plant, singer with Led Zeppelin. The brewery's name came from the nickname for de Beauvoir Town, the area of London where its first beer was brewed at Duke’s Brew & Que on Downham Road, London N1, and which was unexpectedly closed in 2017. In June 2018, it was announced that Heineken would be buying a minority stake, so that Beavertown could spend £40 million on a new brewery and visitor site. The new brewery was launched in 2020, with a capacity of 500,000 hectolitres, a ten-fold increase in their previous capacity. Evil Twin Brewing
Evil Twin Brewing is a gypsy brewery originating in Denmark. Founded in 2010 by Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø. Evil Twin Brewing started as a gypsy brewery, in that the company does not operate an official brewery and, instead, collaborates with other brewers to produce their limited-edition and one-off beers as well as a series of seasonal and year-round beers available internationally. In January 2019 Evil Twin Brewing opened their first brick and mortar brewery in Ridgewood, Queens, New York City. A tap room opened at the same location on October 2, 2019. Mikkeller is a microbrewery founded in 2006 in Copenhagen, Denmark that was originally based on the so-called "cuckoo", "phantom" or "gypsy" ethos; that is, the company did not operate an official brewery and, instead, collaborated with other brewers to produce their recipes or experimental one-off brews. Põhjala Brewery (Estonian: ''Põhjala pruulikoda'') is a craft brewery in Tallinn, Estonia. Its name is Estonian for "northern realm". It is the largest craft brewery in the Baltic states and the only one to have been included in the Ratebeer "top 100" list of world breweries. In 2021 the company had a turnover of 4.61 million euros. Põhjala has a particular focus on porters, barrel ageing, and ingredients from the forests of Estonia. __NOTOC__ To Øl (Danish for "Two Beers") is an international craft brewery based in Denmark. History To Øl was founded by Tore Gynther and Tobias Emil Jensen in 2010 as a gypsy brewer, with brewing primarily taking place at De Proefbrouwerij in Belgium. In 2016, To Øl opened the brewpub "BRUS" in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen. It is a combined bar, shop and restaurant with its own brewery. Beers produced at the brewpub are also canned on site and distributed under the brand name "To Øl CPH". A second BRUS bar opened in Oslo, Norway in 2017. Beer rating is assessing and evaluating beer using a point system. The process is similar to that used in beer judging competitions, such as those organised by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) in America, though the participants are consumers so it may be termed a score-rated recommendation system. Vinmonopolet ( en, The Wine Monopoly), symbolized by Ⓥ and colloquially shortened to Polet, is a government-owned alcoholic beverage retailer and the only company allowed to sell beverages containing an alcohol content higher than 4.75% in Norway. As the arm of the Norwegian government policy to limit the citizens' consumption of alcohol, primarily by means of high cost and limited access, the primary goal of Vinmonopolet is to responsibly perform the distribution of alcoholic goods while limiting the motive of private economic profit from the alcohol industry. Pilsner
Pilsner (also pilsener or simply pils) is a type of pale lager. It takes its name from the Bohemian city of Plzeň (german: Pilsen), where the world's first pale lager (now known as Pilsner Urquell) was produced in 1842 by Pilsner Urquell Brewery. History Origin The city of Plzeň was granted brewing rights in 1307, but until the mid-1840s, most Bohemian beers were top-fermented.
