Leopold Football Club
The Leopold Football Club was an Australian rules football club that competed in junior competitions in Melbourne from the late 1890s until 1924. The club was affiliated with Victorian Football League senior club . Despite its name, the club was not based in the Geelong suburb of Leopold. The name possibly came from Leopold Street in South Yarra. History Leopold first appeared in historical records in 1898, competing in the Metropolitan Junior Football Association. The club won its first MJFA premiership in 1900, going back-to-back with another victory in 1901. At some point around 1904, Leopold had a relationship with the Melbourne Football Club. The club won two premierships in a row again in 1910 and 1911. Around 1912, it began to be affiliated with the South Melbourne Football Club, which competed in the Victorian Football League. Victorian Amateur Football Association
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. It consists of seven senior men's and women's divisions ranging from Premier to Division 4. In addition there are U19's sections and five Thirds sections, primarily made up of either clubs only able to field one team, or clubs from higher sections that can field a third team after their seniors and reserves. The league operates a double promotion and relegation system between sections with various rules dictating which section clubs can play in. The league's administration base is at Elsternwick Park, a former Victorian Football Association stadium in suburban Elsternwick, Victoria, that was home to the now defunct Brighton Football Club and is now the home base for Old Melburnians Football Club and Elsternwick Football Club. Sydney Swans
The Sydney Swans are a professional Australian rules football club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Swans also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). The club's origins trace back to 21 March 1873, when a meeting was held at the Clarendon Hotel in South Melbourne to establishing a junior football club, to be called the South Melbourne Football Club. 1919 VFL Season
The 1919 VFL season was the 23rd season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. For the first time since the peak of World War I, all nine senior clubs competed. The season ran from 3 May until 11 October, and comprised a 16-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. AFL Reserves
The AFL reserve grade competition, commonly known simply as the AFL reserves, was an Australian rules football competition that operated as a second-tier competition to the Australian Football League from 1919 until 1999. Prior to 1990, it was known as the VFL reserve grade competition, VFL reserves or VFL seconds.
