Leonora Amar
Leonora Amar (1 March 1926 – 2 February 2014) was a Brazilian film actress. In the mid-1940s she moved to Mexico, where she was dubbed by the press as The Brazilian Venus.Agrasánchez p.84 She played leading roles in a number of films before retiring at the age of twenty seven. Her final film was the 1953 American runaway production swashbuckler ''Captain Scarlett'' that was filmed in Mexico. She was married to the Argentine actor and co-star Luis Aldás at one point, although this may have been for publicity purposes. Captain Scarlett
''Captain Scarlett'' is a 1953 American adventure film directed by Thomas Carr, that was shot in Mexico. The film is set in France following the fall of Napoleon, stars Richard Greene in the title role as a Robin Hood-type avenger and the Brazilian actress Leonora Amar in her final screen role. Plot In post-Napoleonic France, the Duke of Corlaine reprimands Count Villiers because his Spanish fiancée, Princess Maria, has run away. When Maria's carriage is accosted by highwaymen, Captain Scarlett, a Frenchman returning from England, fends off the attackers. Villiers arrives shortly after and arrests the remaining highwayman, but is ungrateful to Scarlett. Runaway production is a term used by the American Hollywood industry to describe filmmaking and television productions that are intended for initial release/exhibition or television broadcast in the U.S., but are actually filmed outside of the immediate Los Angeles area (including Hollywood), whether in another country, another U.S. state, or in another part of California.
