Leonardo Menichini
Leonardo Menichini (born 11 December 1953) is an Italian football manager and former player. He is currently in charge of Serie C club Monterosi. Career Playing A defender, Menichini played for several top-flight teams, including AS Roma and Catanzaro, the latter under coach Carlo Mazzone. Coaching Following his retirement from playing football, Menichini became a coach, serving alongside Carlo Mazzone from 1993 to 2003 with top-flight teams such as Cagliari, AS Roma, Napoli, Bologna, Perugia Calcio, Perugia and Brescia Calcio, Brescia. In 2003, he accepted an offer from newly promoted Serie A team A.C. Ancona, Ancona to become the ''biancorossis boss; however, his first experience as head coach proved to be unsuccessful, since he was sacked after four weeks in charge of the team. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Lega Pro Prima Divisione was the third highest football league in Italy. It consisted of 33 teams, divided geographically into two divisions of 16 and 17 teams for group A and B respectively. Until 2008 it was known as Serie C1. Before the 1978–79 season there were only three leagues of professional football in Italy, the third being Serie C. In 1978, it was decided to split Serie C into Serie C1 and Serie C2. Serie C2, the fourth highest professional league in the Italian system, was also renamed in 2008 and was called Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. The Serie B (), currently named Serie BKT for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie A. L.R. Vicenza, commonly referred to as Vicenza, is an Italian football club based in Vicenza, Veneto.
