Leonardo Di Lorenzo
Leonardo Di Lorenzo (born May 20, 1981) is a retired Argentine footballer. He announced his retirement from football at the age of 39 on January 20, 2021. Career South America Di Lorenzo started playing soccer in the professional ranks in 2000, with San Lorenzo, where he was part of the team that reached the National A Division closing tournament, and helped the club achieve its first international success by winning the Mercosur Cup. Later on he had spells with Atlético Rafaela and Argentinos Juniors. Canada Di Lorenzo was spotted by the Montreal Impact head coach Nick De Santis during a scouting trip in Argentina in January 2006, and signed a two-year contract with the USL First Division club. USL First Division
The USL First Division (USL-1) was a professional men's soccer league in the second tier of the United States league system. It was organized by the United Soccer League as its premier league for men from 1996 to 2010, above the USL Second Division. The USSF Division 2 Professional League (D2 Pro League) was a temporary professional soccer league created by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) for the 2010 season. The twelve-team league was formed as a compromise between the feuding United Soccer Leagues (USL) and the North American Soccer League (NASL). The D2 Pro League was the second tier of the United States soccer league system below Major League Soccer. The league also included two clubs from Canada and one club from Puerto Rico. Marc Dos Santos (born May 26, 1977) is a Canadian soccer coach who is an assistant coach for Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer. He was previously the head coach of Montreal Impact in D2 Pro League and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, was North American Soccer League Coach of the Year in 2015, when he led the Ottawa Fury FC to the North American Soccer League Championship Final after a first-place finish in the Fall Season, coached at Swope Park Rangers of United Soccer League, San Francisco Deltas of NASL and assistant coach of Los Angeles FC. The 2009 season is the 23rd season played by the United Soccer Leagues. Season titles will be contested by 20 professional men's clubs in the USL First Division and USL Second Division, as well as 37 professional and amateur women's clubs in the W-League and 68 professional and amateur men's teams in the USL Premier Development League. 2008 Canadian Championship
The 2008 Canadian Championship (officially the Nutrilite Canadian Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the first edition of the Canadian Championship – Canada's domestic cup competition. The soccer tournament took place in the cities of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver from May to July, 2008. The tournament consisted of a home and away series between each team for a total of six games. Participating teams were the Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, and the Vancouver Whitecaps. The winner of the tournament, Montreal, gained entry into the qualifying round of the 2008–09 CONCACAF Champions League, where they played against the Nicaraguan representative Real Estelí in a home and away series to determine entrance to the group stages.
