Leon Beer (Mexico)
Leon Beer was the product of the first brewery in Cyprus founded in 1937. Production of Leon Beer was suspended in 1962 because the company acquired the license to produce Carlsberg locally (which began in 1969). In 2003, the brewery re-launched Leon based on the original recipe used in 1937. Malt is any cereal grain that has been made to germinate by soaking in water and then stopped from germinating further by drying with hot air, a process known as "malting". KEO (beer)
KEO is a Cypriot beer. It is a light straw-colored lager with a thick head, and is sometimes compared to a pilsner in taste. The name KEO is the beer producer's corporate acronym of Κυπριακή Εταιρία Οίνων (Cyprus Wine Company). The beer is brewed in Limassol, in Cyprus. The beer won the 1987 brewing industry world bottled lager competition gold medal. In 2010, KEO held a 32.4% share of the island's beer market.
