Leo Alexander Francis Castledine (born 20 August 2005) is an English professional footballer currently playing as a midfielder for League One club Shrewsbury Town, on loan from club Chelsea. Club career Born in Kingston upon Thames, where he lived only 15 minutes away from the Cobham Training Centre, Castledine started his career with Chelsea, who he had supported growing up. He spent two years with Chelsea before moving to AFC Wimbledon at the age of seven. Growing up, he also played rugby, and was enrolled in the elite academy of professional club Harlequins. Initially beginning his career with Wimbledon in a more defensive role, he moved up the pitch to operate as a midfielder. Settling into his new role well, he was involved in Wimbledon under-18's pre-season tour of Italy, playing alongside players four years his senior, and went on to make his under-18 debut in 2019 - becoming the youngest Wimbledon player to ever do so. The Premier League (legal name: The Football Association Premier League Limited) is the highest level of the men's English football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL). Seasons typically run from August to May with each team playing 38 matches (playing all 19 other teams both home and away). 2023–24 EFL Trophy
The 2023–24 EFL Trophy, known as the Bristol Street Motors Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 43rd season in the history of the competition, and was a knock-out tournament for clubs in EFL League One and League Two, the third and fourth tiers of the English football league system, as well as the " Academy teams" of 15 Premier League and one Championship club with Category One status. For the first time since 1984, the competition lacked a sponsor. Following the expiration of Papa Johns's sponsorship contract, the EFL attempted to find new sponsor but were unable to do so. On 2 November 2023, EFL announced they had reached a sponsorship agreement with car dealership brand Bristol Street Motors and the tournament's name was changed to reflect that from that point. The defending champions were Bolton Wanderers who defeated Plymouth Argyle 4–0 in the previous season's final, but they were knocked out in the quarter-finals on penalties by Blackpool. The English Football League Trophy, known for sponsorship purposes as the Papa Johns Trophy after restaurant chain Papa John's Pizza, is an annual English association football knockout competition open to all clubs in EFL League One and EFL League Two, with the addition of 16 under-21 teams from Premier League and EFL Championship clubs since the 2016–17 season.
