Lensvik Municipality
Lensvik is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1905 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality was located along the western shore of the Trondheimsfjorden and it encompassed the central part of what is now Orkland Municipality in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was the village of Lensvik where the Lensvik Church is located. Prior to its dissolution in 1964, the municipality was the 410th largest by area out of the 689 municipalities in Norway. Lensvik Municipality was the 689th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of about 1,134. The municipality's population density was and its population had increased by 2% over the previous 10-year period. Lensvik
Lensvik is a village in Orkland Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located on the western shore of the Trondheimsfjorden, just north of the village of Selbekken. Lensvik is the site of Lensvik Church, and it lies about north of the village of Ingdalen. The lake Øyangsvatnet is located about to the west of Lensvik. History The village was the administrative centre of the old Lensvik Municipality which existed from 1905-1964 when it became part of Agdenes Municipality. In 2020, it became part of Orkland Municipality. Attractions Lensvik is often called the strawberry capital of Norway. The strawberries are sought after as far as the United States and France. The strawberry season runs from July to August. The first week of July also holds the annual strawberry festival.
