Ann Street Historic District
The Ann Street Historic District is a historic district encompassing part of Downtown Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut. A commercial and light industrial area, the district includes properties along Ann Uccello Street (formerly called Ann Street) from Chapel Street south to Hicks Street. It also includes properties east of Ann Street fronting Pearl Street and Hicks Street to roughly Haynes Street, as well as properties west of Ann Uccello Street fronting Allyn and Asylum Streets to roughly a third of the block. The district's architecture typifies the city's development between about 1880 and 1930; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Lenox Hotel (Lenox, Iowa)
The Lenox Hotel is a historic building located in Lenox, Iowa, United States. The original Lenox hotel had been built in 1874, and was destroyed in a fire in 1912. Local businessmen formed the Lenox Hotel Company to construct a new building in its place. Vern Dunlap was the general contractor who built the new hotel, which was completed in 1916. An addition was built onto the back of the building sometime in the 1960s. The lower level commercial space housed the White Way Cafe from 1942 until it closed in 1979. The Lenox Hotel is a hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. It is located at the corner of Boylston and Exeter Streets; one block from Newbury Street, Copley Square, and the Prudential Tower. In addition, the Lenox sits next to the Boston Public Library. The Lenox is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. History The Lenox Hotel was built in 1900 by Lucias Boomer, the owner of New York's Waldorf Astoria, at a cost of $1.1 million. At eleven stories high, it once stood as the tallest building in Boston. The outside was constructed of white and red terra cotta bricks and the inside of the hotel was luxuriously appointed. The hotel is named after the family of Lady Sarah Lennox, a courtier of King George III, who ruled before and during the American Revolution. Madison-Lenox Hotel
The Madison-Lenox Hotel was a hotel complex located at 200-246 Madison Street in Detroit, Michigan. History Originally designed as the Madison Hotel by F.C. Pollmar and Almon C. Varney in 1900 and the Lenox Hotel by A.C. Varney in 1903. A two-story building between the two hotels later connected the pair, creating the Madison-Lenox Hotel.Madison-Lenox Hotel
