Lennart Peyron
Major General Knut ''Lennart'' Peyron (19 November 1909 – 30 December 1981) was a Swedish Air Force officer. His senior commands include commanding officer of the Östgöta Wing (F 3), Chief of the Air Staff and the Third Air Group (E 3). Career Peyron was born on 19 November 1909 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of major general Henry Peyron and his wife Louise (née Reuterskiöld). He became an officer in 1931 when he was commissioned as ''fänrik'' in the Swedish Navy. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1936 in the Swedish Air Force, captain in 1940 and major in 1944. Peyron served as chief of staff of the Third Air Group (''Tredje flygeskadern'', E 3) from 1944 to 1947 when he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. He was then commanding officer of the ''Flygkadettskolan'' (F 20) from 1947 to 1951 when he was promoted to colonel and appointed commanding officer of the Östgöta Wing (F 3). The Royal Order of the Sword (officially: ''Royal Order of the Sword''; Swedish: ''Kungliga Svärdsorden'') is a Swedish order of chivalry and military decoration created by King Frederick I of Sweden on February 23, 1748, together with the Order of the Seraphim and the Order of the Polar Star. The motto of the order is in Latin: ''Pro Patria'' (which means "For Fatherland"). Awarded to officers, and originally intended as an award for bravery and particularly long or useful service, it eventually became a more or less obligatory award for military officers after a certain number of years in service. General Lage Gustaf Harald Thunberg (22 March 1905 – 28 September 1997) was a Swedish Air Force officer. He was the Chief of the Air Force from 1961 to 1968. Career Thunberg was born on 22 March 1905 in Mörlunda, Sweden, the son of master builder August Andersson and his wife Adéle (née Thunberg). He was commissioned as an officer with the rank of second lieutenant and assigned to Kalmar Regiment (I 21) in 1927 and was transferred to the Swedish Air Force in 1933. Thunberg won the Nordic flying competition ''Nordisk flygarpokal'' in 1934 and 1936. Stig Norén
General Carl Stig Norén (10 May 1908 – 10 September 1996) was a Swedish Air Force officer. Norén started his military career in the Swedish Navy and was after a few years transferred to the Swedish Air Force where he would remain for over 30 years. Norén finished his career by being the Chief of the Air Force from 1968 to 1973. Lieutenant General Gustaf Adolf Westring (2 September 1900 – 15 March 1963) was a Swedish Air Force officer. Westring served as commanding officer of Västmanland Wing, as head of the Royal Swedish Air Force Staff College, as Chief of the Air Staff and as head of the Swedish National Defence College. Order Of Vasa
The Royal Order of Vasa () is a Swedish order of chivalry, awarded to citizens of Sweden for service to state and society especially in the fields of agriculture, mining and commerce. It was instituted on 29 May 1772 by King Gustav III. It was unrestricted by birth or education and could therefore be awarded to anyone (as opposed to the Order of the Polar Star, which was intended as a reward for the learned professions). It was the most junior of all the Swedish orders. It was often awarded to Norwegian subjects of the dual monarchy until Oscar I founded the Norwegian Order of St. Olav in 1847. Since 1974 the order is no longer conferred: officially it has been declared as "dormant", along with the Order of the Sword. In 2019, a parliamentary committee was instructed to establish guidelines on how to re-introduce the Swedish orders, including the Order of Vasa, into the Swedish honours system and how Swedish citizens again can be appointed to Swedish orders.
