Lemuel Paynter (1788 – August 1, 1863) was a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Life and career Lemuel Paynter was born in Lewes, Delaware. Charles Brown (September 23, 1797 – September 4, 1883) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 1st congressional district from 1841 to 1843 and Pennsylvania's 3rd congressional district from 1847 to 1849. He also served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1830 to 1833 and as a Pennsylvania State Senator for the 2nd district from 1838 to 1841. Joel Barlow Sutherland (February 26, 1792 – November 15, 1861) was an American politician who served as the first president of the General Society of the War of 1812 from 1854 to 1861. He was a member of the Democratic Party who represented Pennsylvania in the United States House of Representatives (1827–1837). Early life and career Joel Barlow Sutherland was born in Gloucester County, New Jersey. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia in 1812.
