Lelio Bonaccorso
Lelio Bonaccorso (born 2 August 1982 in Messina, Sicily, Italy), is an Italian comic artist and illustrator. He collaborated with prestigious Italian newspapers such as ''Corriere della Sera'' ('' La Lettura''), ''La Gazzetta dello Sport'', ''L'Unità'', ''Wired'' and participated in various comic festivals such as Lucca Comics, Napoli Comicon, Etna Comics, Lamezia Comics by exhibiting personal and collective works. His foreign collaborations, mainly with France, made him well-known also abroad, particularly in Europe, North America and Latin America. He taught at the School of Comics in Palermo and in Messina. He specialised both in graphic journalism, for which he was awarded in many public occasions, and pop comics, for which Bonaccorso can boasts collaborations with publishing houses as Marvel and Disney. Alternative comics cover a range of American comics that have appeared since the 1980s, following the underground comix movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Jan Karski
Jan Karski (24 June 1914 – 13 July 2000) was a Polish soldier, resistance-fighter, and diplomat during World War II. He is known for having acted as a courier in 1940–1943 to the Polish government-in-exile and to Poland's Western Allies about the situation in German-occupied Poland. He reported about the state of Poland, its many competing resistance factions, and also about Germany's destruction of the Warsaw Ghetto and its operation of extermination camps on Polish soil that were murdering Jews, Poles, and others. Emigrating to the United States after the war, Karski completed a doctorate and taught for decades at Georgetown University in international relations and Polish history. He lived in Washington, D.C., until the end of his life. Marco Pantani
Marco Pantani (; 13 January 1970 – 14 February 2004) was an Italian road racing cyclist, widely regarded as the greatest climbing specialist in the history of the sport by measures of his legacy, credits from other riders, and records. He recorded the fastest ever climbs up the Tour’s iconic venues of Mont Ventoux (46:00) and Alpe d'Huez (36:50), and all-time greats including Lance Armstrong and Charly Gaul have hailed Pantani’s climbing skills.
