Leinster League
The Leinster League is the second tier of Rugby union, rugby in Leinster Rugby, Leinster, behind the Leinster Senior League (rugby), Leinster Senior League. It has five divisions. The champions qualify for a round-robin tournament with the champions of the other three provincial junior leagues for one of two promotion places to the All-Ireland League (rugby union), All-Ireland League. Rugby union football, commonly known simply as rugby union in English-speaking countries and rugby 15/XV in non-English-speaking world, Anglophone Europe, or often just rugby, is a Contact sport#Terminology, close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in England in the first half of the 19th century. Dundalk RFC
Dundalk Rugby Football Club ( ) is an amateur Irish Rugby football club from Dundalk, County Louth. The men's team compete in Division 1B of the Leinster League. The club was established in 1877 and became a founder member of the Provincial Towns Union, which then merged into what became the Northern Branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union. They later joining the Leinster branch of the IRFU. They have been a junior club throughout their existence, with the exception of the 2015–16 season when they competed in Division 2C of the All-Ireland League. Their first tournament win was a Leinster Junior Cup victory in 1908–09. They won their first Leinster Towns Cup in 1931–32 and have won the competition ten times, with the most recent victory coming in 2010–11. Newbridge RFC is an Irish rugby club based in County Kildare, playing in Division 2A of the Leinster League. History The club was founded in 1996 after the amalgamation of the Curragh and Old Kilcullen clubs. Close to the end of the 1995/1996 season, it seemed clear that the future of rugby in County Kildare was under threat. Despite them having very successful youth teams, both the Curragh and Old Kilcullen clubs were struggling a great deal because of those players moving away. North Kildare RFC
North Kildare RFC is an Irish rugby team based between Maynooth and Kilcock, County Kildare. It is part of the North Kildare Club, which also includes cricket, hockey, bowls, tennis and bridge sections. It is also the home of a gym. The club caters for adult, youths, mini and girls rugby. The club's first team currently plays in Division 2A of the Leinster League, and its teams participate in IRFU Leinster Branch and North Midlands Area competitions. Edenderry RFC is an Irish rugby team originally based in County Offaly, but now playing in Coolavacoose, Carbury, County Kildare. They play in Division 2A of the Leinster League. The club colours are white and royal blue. History Edenderry Rugby Football Club were founded in 1951 in Edenderry, County Offaly. They first started playing on a rugby pitch given to them near the town's golf course. In 1969, Edenderry won the Leinster Provincial Towns Cup. shortly after the victory, the club decided to move grounds across the county border to Carbury in County Kildare with a new clubhouse being constructed in 1974 and extended in 1986. Coolmine Rugby Football club is a rugby union club located at Ashbrook, near the suburbs of Castleknock and Blanchardstown in west County Dublin, Ireland, playing in Division 2A of the Leinster League. The club was established in 1980. Coolmine RFC has junior club status in Leinster. History Coolmine RFC was founded on 26 November 1980 in Coolmine, close to the growing suburbs of Blanchardstown and Castleknock by Mr. Eugene Cadogan and Dr Bill Linehan.
