Leila Kasra
Leila Kasra (‎; 1939–1989) also known as Hedieh (), (March 27, 1939 – May 16, 1989) was a prominent Iranian contemporary poet and lyricist who has written lyrics for notable artists including Ebi, Dariush, Sattar, Vigen, Moein, Mahasti, Andy, Homeyra, Morteza, Hassan Shamaizadeh, Siavash Shams and many more. She was best known for writing more than 30 songs for Hayedeh. Biography Leila Kasra was born on March 27, 1939, in Tehran. After graduating from high school in Tehran, Kasra moved to England to continue her education where she got a bachelor's degree in English literature from King's College London. When she returned to Iran, she was hired in the Iran Petrochemical Commercial Company, but she left the job to pursue a career in poetry. In 1956 she wrote columns for the magazines ''Omide Iran'', ''Roshanfekr'', ''Etelate Banouan''. In 1959 her first poem was published in ''Etelate Banouan''. In 1969 Kasra published two poetry books. Morteza Barjesteh (), best known by his stage name Morteza (), is an Iranian Pop music, pop singer-songwriter and composer who gained fame in Iran during the 1980s. Early life Morteza was born in Tehran and spent his early years there. Finishing primary and secondary education, he studied architecture and engaged in graphic designing. During the years of living in Iran, he worked with several advertising companies as a designer. By the age of 16, Morteza started singing in Iranian movies. Shahram Shabpareh (; born February 6, 1948) is an Iranian pop singer and songwriter. Career He started his career as a drum player in the early 1960s when he was 13. In the mid-1960s at the age of 17, he formed a band of his own named "Rebels". He was a member of Black Cats (band), Black Cats from 1964 to 1979, which was started by his brother Shahbal Shabpareh. He embarked a solo career starting in the 70s. After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Shahram, who had migrated to California a few years earlier, did not have the opportunity to return to his homeland. Andy & Kouros (Persian: ) were an Iranian pop duo formed together in 1985, composed of Andranik "Andy" Madadian and Kouros Shahmiri. Andy and Kouros released four albums: ''Khastegary'' (1985), ''Parvaz'' (1987), the hugely successful ''Balla'' (1990), and finally ''Goodbye'' (1991).
