Leicester Falcons
The Leicester Panthers are an American football team based in Leicester, England, that competes in the BAFA National Leagues Premier Division North, the top level of British American football. Their current home ground is at Aylestone Park F.C., having previously played at De Montfort Park and Leicester Forest RFC. The Panthers were originally formed in 1983 and played until 1996, before a new club the Leicester Falcons were formed ten years later in 2006. The Falcons men's team were four-time divisional champions, last winning a Division 1 National Championship in 2018 and a NFC1 South Conference Championship in 2022. Leicester Falcons Academy U16s and Leicester Falcons Women are also part of the club, while the academy field a U19s team in partnership with Rugby Rhinos AFC. BAFA National Leagues
The BAFANL (BAFA National Leagues) is the primary American football domestic league competition in Great Britain. Originally formed in 1983, the league is run by the British American Football Association to coordinate American football, contact football within England, Scotland and Wales. The top level is the Premier Division and the BritBowl is the annual final championship game. The league was reformed in 2010 following the collapse of the British American Football League, which had run in a number of different guises since the early 1980s. The Colchester Gladiators are an American Football team competing in the South East National League of British American Football League (BAFL). They play their home games at the Corporal Budd VC Gymnasium. Background The club was first formed in 1983 and entered senior competition in 1985 where they enjoyed a degree of success, winning the Budweiser League Premier Division playoffs in 1988 and only failing to make the post season playoffs on three occasions before the team folded in 1995. They reformed again in 2003 after a high-profile charity reunion match which featured TV presenter Dermot O'Leary. Coventry Jets
The Coventry Jets were an American football team based in Coventry, England.The club ceased to exist in 2018 and dropped out of the BAFA National Leagues with all club assets and teams being moved over to the Etone Jaguars based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Jason Brisbane is the Chief Executive Officer of Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby and a former American football player and coach. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and spent a year on their practice squad. He also played in the British League, Finland, Switzerland, and Spanish League. Bradlee Van Pelt (born July 3, 1980) is an American former professional football quarterback and safety. He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL draft, and was also a member of the Houston Texans, Bergamo Lions in Italy and Leicester Falcons in England.
