''Legion of Super-Heroes'' is a 2023 American animated superhero film based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name, produced by Warner Bros. Animation and distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. It is the sixth film in the DC Animated Movie Universe's second phase, and the overall 50th installment in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line. The film follows Kara Zor-El / Supergirl as she trains alongside the members of the Legion of Super-Heroes from the 31st century, and battles the terrorist organization known as the Dark Circle. The film was directed by Jeff Wamester from a script by Josie Campbell while Jim Krieg, Kimberly S. Moreau served as producers, Butch Lukic as supervising producer and Sam Register as executive producer. The film was released on digital and to home video formats on February 7, 2023. Legion Of Super-Heroes
The Legion of Super-Heroes is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino, the Legion is a group of superpowered beings living in the 30th and 31st centuries of the , and first appeared in ''Adventure Comics'' #247 (April 1958). Initially, the team was closely associated with the original Superboy (Kal-El), Superboy character (Superman when he was a teenager), and was portrayed as a group of time travelers. Later, the Legion's origin and back story were fleshed out, and the group was given its own monthly comic. Eventually, Superboy was removed from the team altogether and appeared only as an occasional guest star. The team has undergone two major reboot (fiction), reboots during its run. Dark Circle
The Dark Circle is a criminal organization appearing in media published by DC Comics, primarily as an enemy of the Legion of Super-Heroes. They first appeared in 1968, created by Jim Shooter as a criminal organization founded by five members and consisting of them and their clones. The Dark Circle concept was later modified to consist of members from five core worlds instead of clones. A later version, introduced following the '' Zero Hour: Crisis in Time!'' reboot, was led by Brainiac 4 and had several known Legion enemies among their ranks instead of generic masked henchmen. Triplicate Girl (Luornu Durgo) is a superhero appearing in DC Comics, primarily as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th and 31st centuries. Proty
Proty is the name of two characters appearing in media published by DC Comics, primarily in association with the Legion of Super-Heroes. The original Proty first appears in '' Adventure Comics'' #308 (May 1963), where Chameleon Boy adopts him as a pet. After Proty sacrifices himself to resurrect Lightning Lad, an identically-named Protean, dubbed "Proty II", is introduced as his successor.
