Legio VII Claudia (Claudius' Seventh Legion) was a legion of the Imperial Roman army. History According to H.M.D. Parker, the first legion Julius Caesar raised for his campaigns in Cisalpine Gaul was the Seventh; the numbers 1-4 were omitted by custom because the first four legions were under the direct command of the consuls. The Roman commander mentions the Seventh in his account of the battle against the Nervians, and it seems that it was employed during the expedition through western Gaul led by Caesar's deputy Crassus. In 56 BC, the Seventh was present during the Venetic campaign. During the crisis caused by Vercingetorix, it fought in the neighborhood of Lutetia; it must have been active at Alesia and it was certainly involved in the mopping-up operations among the Bellovaci. Legio VII Gemina
__NOTOC__ Legio VII Gemina (Latin for "The Twins' Seventh Legion") was a legion of the Imperial Roman army. It was raised in AD 68 in Hispania by the general Galba to take part in his rebellion against the emperor Nero. "Gemina" means the legion was dedicated to the legendary twin founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus, who were suckled by a she-wolf. The legion was deployed in the city called ''Legio'' (modern-day León, Spain) in AD 74 and remained in Hispania to the end of the 4th century. Tacitus calls the legion "Galbiana", to distinguish it from the senior Legio VII ''Claudia'', but this appellation is not found on any inscriptions. 7th Legions' Infantry Regiment
7th Legions Infantry Regiment (Polish language: 7 Pulk Piechoty Legionow, 7 pp Leg.) was an infantry regiment of the Polish Army. It existed from 1918 until 1939. Garrisoned first in Ostrów Mazowiecka and then in Chełm, it was part of the 3rd Legions Infantry Division. The regiment was formed on May 1, 1918, in the centers of Polska Siła Zbrojna at Ostrów Mazowiecka and Zegrze. The new unit, which at that time was called 1st Infantry Regiment consisted of three infantry battalions and a company of machine guns. In November 1918, its soldiers disarmed German garrisons of Warsaw, Ostrów Mazowiecka and Malkinia. In early February 1919, the regiment was renamed the 7th Legions Infantry Regiment, to fight in the Polish–Soviet War.
