Leendert Van Der Vlugt
Leendert Cornelis van der Vlugt (13 April 1894 – 25 April 1936) was a Dutch architect in Rotterdam. In the architects office Brinkman & Van der Vlugt he was responsible for the architecture of the Van Nelle Factory, a listed monument of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. After the death of the Rotterdam architect Michiel Brinkman in 1925, his son Johannes Brinkman, a constructional engineer, took over the architectural office and made Leendert van der Vlugt co-director. The new practice was called J.A. Brinkman & L.C. van der Vlugt, (Vlugt pronounced as "Vlücht"). Leendert (Leen) Konijn (Zwammerdam, January 28, 1899 – Gorinchem, September 16, 1977) was a Dutch rubber planter (1920-1930) and entrepreneur in the cultivation of navel oranges and various citrus fruits at Lao Kawar, Mount Sinabung, North Sumatra, Dutch East Indies (1932-1942). Biography Leendert Konijn was born in Zwammerdam as the oldest child of twelve. His parents, Jan Konijn, a bread baker and Janna Arnolda Kruithof were strict churchgoers and attended the Dutch Reformed Church. Konijn grew up in the small village of Tempel situated in the Bible belt in the western part of The Netherlands near the towns of Zwammerdam and Boskoop. Leendert Pieter De Neufville
Leendert Pieter de Neufville (Amsterdam, March 8, 1729Rotterdam, July 28, 1811) was a Dutch merchant and banker trading in silk, linen, and grain. His business grew quickly during the Seven Years' War. De Neufville secretly supplied the Prussian army with gunpowder. It is likely that the army's outsourcing of handling bills of exchange in commercial payment boosted his business in a sophisticated form of letters of credit, acceptance loans. His business model had similarities with the modern shadow banking system. Beginning in 1762 De Neufville became involved in melting down debased coins, no longer allowed in Prussia and Saxony, with the plan to sell back the melted silver. In Spring 1763 De Neufville was party to a major speculative grain deal with the Berlin merchant banker Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky. Leendert Arent-Willem de Lange (born 13 November 1972) is a Dutch politician. He has been mayor of Wassenaar since 18 July 2019. Previously he was a member of the House of Representatives for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, serving from 31 March 2015 to 23 March 2017 and once again from 31 October 2017 to 3 July 2019. Leendert Bosch
Leendert Bosch (13 November 1924 – 20 January 2017) was a Dutch biochemist. He was a professor of biochemistry at Leiden University from 1964 to 1990. Bosch was born on 13 November 1924 in Appingedam. He obtained his title of Doctor at Delft University of Technology in 1955, with a dissertation titled "Biochemische en endocrinologische onderzoekingen van normaal en neoplastisch weefsel : de stofwisseling van oestrogeen producerende ovariumtumoren" (Biochemical and endocrinological research of normal and neoplastic tissue: the metabolism of oestrogen producing ovarian tumors). In 1961 Bosch was named lector of biochemistry in extraordinary service at Leiden University. In 1963 he became a regular lector, and in 1964 he was named professor. Leendert Hasenbosch
Leendert Hasenbosch, (probably end of 1725) was a Dutch employee of the Dutch East India Company ( nl, Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie, commonly abbreviated to VOC) who was marooned on (at the time uninhabited) Ascension Island in the South Atlantic Ocean, as a punishment for sodomy. He wrote a diary until his presumed death. Early life Leendert Hasenbosch was likely born in The Hague, Holland in 1695. Around the year 1709 his father, a widower, moved himself and his three daughters to Batavia in the Dutch East Indies (modern Indonesia) while Leendert stayed in Holland. On 17 January 1714, Hasenbosch became a soldier of the VOC and boarded the flute-ship in Enkhuizen bound for Batavia where he served for about a year. From 1715 to 1720 he served in Cochin in India, a Dutch possession at the time. In 1720 he returned to Batavia and was promoted to corporal.
