The Leela Group is an Indian business conglomerate founded by Chittarath Poovakkatt Krishnan Nair in 1981, and named after his wife. The hotel division, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, is its most well known. Ajmer Rode is a Canadian author writing in Punjabi as well as in English. His first work was non-fiction ''Vishva Di Nuhar'' on Albert Einstein's Relativity in dialogue form inspired by Plato's ''Republic''. Published by the Punjabi University in 1966, the book initiated a series of university publications on popular science and sociology. Rode's first poetry book ''Surti'' influenced by science and philosophical explorations was experimental and in words of critic Dr. Attar Singh 'has extended the scope of Punjabi language and given a new turn to Punjabi poetry'. His most recent poetry book ''Leela'', more than 1000 pages long and co-authored with Navtej Bharati, is counted among the outstanding Punjabi literary works of the twentieth century. Navtej Bharati
Navtej Bharati () is one of the most well-known Punjabi poets living in Canada. Born and brought up in Rode village near Moga in Punjab, India, he moved to Canada in 1960s. He now lives in London, Ontario with his wife Surinder Kaur. They have two children, a son Subodh and daughter Sumeet. Bharati has published books in Punjabi and English. He was the publisher of Third Eye Press, whose books covered many genres. His book ''Leela'' (ਲੀਲਾ), co-authored with his brother Ajmer Rode, is more than 1000 pages long and is considered one of the most important Punjabi poetry works of the twentieth century. In 2012 he wrote a long poem ''Lali''(ਲਾਲੀ), based on the iconic character of Prof Hardiljeet Singh who taught in Punjabi University, Patiala and was known as 'Lali'. Lila (Hinduism)
Lila ( ') or leela () can be loosely translated as "divine play". The concept of lila asserts that creation, instead of being an objective for achieving any purpose, is rather an outcome of the playful nature of the divine. As the divine is perfect, it could have no want fulfilled, thereby signifying freedom, instead of necessity, behind the creation. The concept of lila is common to both non-dualist and dualist philosophical schools of Indian philosophy, but has a markedly different significance in each. Within non-dualism, lila is a way of describing all reality, including the cosmos, as the outcome of creative play by the divine absolute (Brahman). Leela Chess Zero (abbreviated as LCZero, lc0) is a free, open-source chess engine and volunteer computing project based on Google's AlphaZero engine. It was spearheaded by Gary Linscott, a developer for the Stockfish chess engine, and adapted from the Leela Zero Go engine. Like Leela Zero and AlphaGo Zero, early iterations of Leela Chess Zero started with no intrinsic chess-specific knowledge other than the basic rules of the game. It learned how to play chess through reinforcement learning from repeated self-play, using a distributed computing network coordinated at the Leela Chess Zero website. Leela is a computer Go software developed by Belgian programmer Gian-Carlo Pascutto, the author of chess engine Sjeng. It won the third place for 19x19 board Go and the second place for 9x9 board Go at the Computer Olympiad in 2008, and won the eighth place in the 1st World AI Go Tournament in August 2017. According to its website, it has "Strength over 9 dan on 19 x 19, depending on hardware". The program was named "Leela" because the author wanted a pleasant female name that contrasted with the prevailing style at the time, typified by names like "Shredder", "Tiger", and "Rebel". A version featuring deep learning technology was released for free in February 2017. It was the first Go engine close to professional level freely available on a personal computer. Dadi Leela
Dadi Leela (born Leelavati Harchandani; 20 December 1916 14 September 2017; sometimes spelled Dadi Leelan) was a Pakistani educationist, music teacher, philanthropist, and a former member of Sindh provincial assembly known for her advocacy of women's education. She also contributed to Sindhi culture and literature. The recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for her contribution to the field of education, she worked as additional director of schools in Hyderabad and deputy and provincial commissioner for the Girl Guides till 1975. Later in 1985, she was appointed or selected as a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA). She was the oldest surviving amil of Sindh.
