Leeds Tramway
Leeds Corporation Tramways formerly served the city of Leeds, England. The original trams were horse-drawn, but the city introduced Britain's first overhead-powered electric trams in 1891, and by 1901, electrification had been completed. The tramway opened on 29 October 1891. Routes There were several lines running between the Leeds city centre, city centre and Cross Gates, Chapel Allerton, Moortown, West Yorkshire, Moortown, Roundhay, Middleton, Leeds, Middleton, Beeston, Leeds, Beeston, Armley, Hunslet and Kirkstall. The network, of which certain sections were on reserved track, was far more extensive than that of the proposed Leeds Supertram, which has not been built after a funding shortfall from central government. Crich
Crich is a village and civil parish in the English county of Derbyshire. Besides the village of Crich, the civil parish includes the nearby villages of Fritchley, Whatstandwell and Wheatcroft, Derbyshire, Wheatcroft. The population of the civil parish at the 2001 census was 2,821, increasing to 2,898 at the 2011 census. The village is home to the National Tramway Museum and, at the summit of Crich Hill above, a memorial tower for those of the Sherwood Foresters regiment who died in battle, particularly in World War I. Kirkstall
Kirkstall is a north-western suburb of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, on the eastern side of the River Aire. The area sits in the Kirkstall (ward), Kirkstall electoral ward, ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds Central and Headingley (UK Parliament constituency), Leeds Central and Headingley UK Parliament constituencies, parliamentary constituency, represented by Alex Sobel. The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 21,709. Middleton Railway
The Middleton Railway is the world's oldest continuously working railway, situated in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1758 and is now a heritage railway, run by volunteers from The Middleton Railway Trust Ltd. since 1960. National Tramway Museum
The National Tramway Museum, operating under the name Crich Tramway Village, is a transport museum located at Crich (), in the Peak District of the English county of Derbyshire. The museum's collection of trams is officially designated as being of national importance and encompasses the 1860s to the present day. The museum is set within a reconstructed historic village, featuring a traditional public house, café, period-style sweetshop, and a tram depot. Many of the trams are fully operational and provide rides for visitors along a scenic route that runs through the village and into the surrounding countryside. Punk Rock
Punk rock (also known as simply punk) is a rock music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s. Queens Hall was a concert and exhibition venue located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was originally a tram and then a bus depot and had latterly become a venue hosting events such as the Ideal Home Exhibition and the 1981, 1982, 1988 and 1989 Great British Beer Festival, flea markets, travelling fairs and concerts. History The building was originally constructed at the turn of the 20th century and was known as Swinegate Tram Depot. Manchester Metrolink is a tram/light rail system in Greater Manchester, England.
