Lee Montague
Leonard Goldberg (16 October 1927 – 30 March 2025), known professionally as Lee Montague, was an English actor noted for his roles in film and television, usually playing tough guys. Early life Montague was born in Bow, London. His family was Jewish: his father was a tailor from Russia, and his mother was from Lithuania. Career Montague was a student of the Old Vic School. Montague's film credits include ''The Camp on Blood Island'', ''Billy Budd'', '' The Secret of Blood Island'', ''Deadlier Than the Male'', '' Brother Sun, Sister Moon'', ''Jesus of Nazareth'', ''Mahler'' and '' The Legacy''. Bow, London
Bow () is a district in East London, England and is in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is an inner-city suburb located east of Charing Cross. Historic counties of England, Historically in Middlesex, it became part of the County of London in Local Government Act 1888, 1888. "Bow" is an abbreviation of the medieval name Stratford-at-Bow, in which "Bow" refers to the Bow Bridge (London), bow-shaped bridge built here in the early 12th century. ''Bergerac'' ( ) is a British crime drama television series. Set in Jersey, it ran from 18 October 1981 to 26 December 1991. ''The Chinese Detective'' is a British television police procedural drama series, first transmitted by the BBC between 1981 and 1982. The series was created by Ian Kennedy Martin, who had previously devised '' The Sweeney'' and ''Juliet Bravo''. Plot The series starred British Chinese actor David Yip as Detective Sergeant John Ho. Yip became the first Chinese lead actor in any British television drama series. The Sweeney
''The Sweeney'' is a British police drama television series focusing on two members of the Flying Squad, a branch of the Metropolitan Police specialising in tackling armed robbery and violent crime in London. It stars John Thaw as Detective Inspector Jack Regan and Dennis Waterman as his partner, Detective Sergeant George Carter. ''Dixon of Dock Green'' is a BBC police procedural television series about daily life at a fictional London police station, with the emphasis on petty crime, successfully controlled through common sense and human understanding. It ran from 1955 to 1976. The central character, George Dixon, first appeared in the film ''The Blue Lamp'' (1950). Dixon is a mature and sympathetic police constable, who was played by Jack Warner (actor), Jack Warner in all of the 432 episodes. Dixon is the supposed embodiment of a typical "bobby" who would be familiar with the area in which he patrolled and its residents and often lived there himself. ''Department S'' is a British spy-fi adventure series, produced by ITC Entertainment. It consists of 28 episodes which originally aired in 1969 and 1970. It stars Peter Wyngarde as author Jason King (later featured in spin-off series '' Jason King''), Joel Fabiani as field investigator Stewart Sullivan, and Rosemary Nicols as computer expert Annabelle Hurst.
