Lee Ching-hsiung
Lee Ching-hsiung (; born 17 March 1938) is a Taiwanese politician. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 1990 to 1996, and again from 1999 to 2002. Lee then served on the Examination Yuan between 2002 and 2008. Education and legal career Lee earned a bachelor's and master's degree in law at National Taiwan University. He practiced law as a lawyer, district attorney and judge. Political career Lee was first elected to the Legislative Yuan in December 1989 as a supplemental legislator from Kaohsiung. Shortly after taking office, he joined 25 others in signing the instrument of appeal for Judicial Yuan Interpretation No. 261, which ruled on the extended tenure of the First Legislative Yuan, a legislative body first elected in 1948, when the government of the Republic of China still maintained control over mainland China. Examination Yuan
The Examination Yuan is the civil service commission branch, in charge of validating the qualification of civil servants, of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). It has a president, a vice president, and seven to nine members, all of whom are nominated by the president of the republic and confirmed by the Legislative Yuan for four-year terms according to Republic of China laws. Tang Yao-ming
Tang Yao-ming (; 29 November 1940 – 3 November 2021) was a Taiwanese general officer. He was the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of China (ROC) from 2002 to 2004. Fu Kun-chi
Fu Kun-chi (; born 8 May 1962) is a Taiwanese politician. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 2002 to 2009, when he assumed the Hualien County magistracy. In September 2018, Fu was removed from the latter office, as the Supreme Court issued its final ruling on charges of insider trading against him, outstanding since 2005. Fu was re-elected to the Legislative Yuan in 2020. On 14 May 2020, he was convicted of illegal stock speculation and sentenced to two years and ten months in prison. Education Fu completed his bachelor's degree in transport administration and China research at Tamkang University. Diane Lee Ching-an (; Lee Ching-an; born 17 January 1959) is a Taiwanese former politician. She naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1991, but later relinquished U.S. citizenship. Lee, a Kuomintang member, held elected public office in Taiwan from 1994 to 2009, first as a Taipei City Councilwoman and then for three terms as a legislator representing Daan District, Taipei City. Lo Fu-chu
Lo Fu-chu (; born 2 July 1943) is a former Taiwanese legislator and a self-described leader of the "Celestial Alliance" organized crime group. In the late 1990s and early 2000s he was known as the most notorious person involved with organized crime then holding public office, and was reputed to be one of the wealthiest men in Taiwan. While in office he was described by other legislators as "verbally and physically violent", and he was arrested the same day that his second legislative term ended, in 2002. After leaving office Lo fought and appealed many charges over the next decade, but was eventually convicted in 2012 for money laundering and insider trading and sentenced to four years in prison. Cross-Strait relations (sometimes called Mainland–Taiwan relations, or Taiwan-China relations) are the relations between China (officially the People's Republic of China) and Taiwan (officially the Republic of China). The relationship has been complex and controversial due to the dispute on the political status of Taiwan after the administration of Taiwan was transferred from Japan to the Republic of China at the end of World War II in 1945, and the subsequent split between the PRC and ROC as a result of the Chinese Civil War.
