Led Zeppelin United Kingdom Tour 1970
Led Zeppelin's 1970 United Kingdom Tour was a concert tour of the United Kingdom by that English rock band. The tour commenced on 7 January and concluded on 17 February 1970. This tour is arguably best known for the band's performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 9 January. Led Zeppelin were an English rock music, rock band formed in London in 1968. The band comprised vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist-keyboardist John Paul Jones (musician), John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham. I Can't Quit You Baby
"I Can't Quit You Baby" is blues song written by Willie Dixon and first recorded by Chicago blues artist Otis Rush in 1956. It is a slow twelve-bar blues ensemble piece, with lyrics about the consequences of an adulterous relationship which is difficult to end. "I Can't Quit You Baby" was Rush's first recording and Cobra Records' debut single. It became a record chart hit as well as a blues standard. Rush updated the song in 1966 with a modified arrangement, which was adapted by Led Zeppelin for their 1969 debut album. Black Mountain Side
"Black Mountain Side" is an instrumental by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, adapted, without credit, from Bert Jansch's original arrangement of the traditional Irish folk song "Down by Blackwaterside". It was recorded in October 1968 at Olympic Studios in London, and is included on the group's 1969 debut album ''Led Zeppelin''. Composition and recording "Black Mountain Side" was inspired by a traditional Irish folk song called "Down by Blackwaterside". The guitar arrangement closely follows Bert Jansch's version of that song, recorded for his 1966 album '' Jack Orion''. Al Stewart, who followed Jansch's gigs, taught it to Page, who was a session musician for Stewart's debut album. White Summer
"White Summer" is a guitar instrumental by English rock guitarist Jimmy Page. It is an adaptation of the Irish air “She Moves Through The Fair." Page initially recorded and performed it with the Yardbirds and later included it in many Led Zeppelin concerts. According to biographer Keith Shadwick, it is based on an old Irish folk song, "specifically derived from ' She Moved Through the Fair' in the 1963 version by aveyGraham, which he in turn credited to Padraic Colum". The later Led Zeppelin song " Over the Hills and Far Away" was "spun off" from "White Summer" as well as an unreleased 20-minute instrumental recorded in early 1974 at Headley Grange. John Paul Jones (musician)
John Paul Jones (born John Baldwin; 3 January 1946) is an English musician and record producer who was the bassist and keyboardist for the rock band Led Zeppelin. He was a session musician and Arrangement, arranger when he formed the band with Jimmy Page in 1968. Jones developed a solo career after drummer John Bonham died and Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980. He has collaborated with musicians in a variety of genres, including the Supergroup (music), supergroup Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and Alain Johannes. "Heartbreaker" is a song by the English rock band Led Zeppelin from their 1969 album, ''Led Zeppelin II''. It was credited to all four members of the band, recorded at A&R Recording and Atlantic Studios in New York City during the band's second concert tour of North America, and engineered by Eddie Kramer. Composition "Heartbreaker" has been described as an "unashamed slice of heavy rock", containing "a few very unorthodox touches". "Dazed and Confused" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Jake Holmes in 1967. Performed in a folk rock-style, he recorded it for his debut album '' "The Above Ground Sound" of Jake Holmes''. Although some concluded that it was about a bad acid trip, Holmes insists the lyrics refer to the effects of a girl's indecision on ending a relationship. After hearing Holmes perform the song in August 1967, English rock group the Yardbirds reworked it with a new arrangement.
