Lebanon Hanover
Lebanon Hanover are a British-German post-punk duo formed in 2010 in Sunderland, England. The band consists of Swiss vocalist and guitarist Larissa Iceglass and British vocalist, bassist and synthesist William Maybelline. The group is signed to Greece's Fabrika Records and has released six studio albums to date. Their name comes from two neighbouring towns (Lebanon and Hanover) in New Hampshire, United States. History Band members Larissa Iceglass (born Larissa Georgiou) and William Maybelline (born William Morris), who lived in Berlin, Germany and Newcastle, England, respectively at the time, met each other through the music social media website Last.fm, where they traded 80s music recommendations with each other. The Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT; ) is an annual world festival for "dark" music and "dark culture" in Leipzig, Germany. 150+ bands and artists from various backgrounds (gothic rock, gothic metal, Electronic body music, EBM, Industrial music, industrial, Noise (music), noise, darkwave, neo-folk, Neoclassical music, neo-classical, Medieval music, medieval, Experimental music, experimental, deathrock and Punk rock, punk music being examples) play at several venues throughout the city over four days on Pentecost, Whitsuntide. She Past Away is a Turkish post-punk band, formed in 2006. The band was formed in Bursa by Volkan Caner (the vocalist and guitarist) and İdris Akbulut (Bass guitar). The band is known for their dark wave musical style with post-punk roots and the gothic image of the band members. In December 2018, in an interview with an independent music webmagazine, Doruk Öztürkcan announced the release of a new album in 2019 and a subsequent US tour. On May 31, 2019 they digitally released their third album "Disko Anksiyete", based mainly on disco sounds, but which does not abandon the typical sound of the duo. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. Gothic rock stood out due to its darker sound, with the use of primarily minor or bass chords, reverb, dark arrangements, or dramatic and melancholic melodies, having inspirations in gothic literature allied with themes such as sadness, nihilism, dark romanticism, tragedy, melancholy and morbidity. Neofolk
Neofolk, also known as apocalyptic folk, is a form of experimental music blending elements of folk and industrial music, which emerged in punk rock circles in the 1980s. Neofolk may either be solely acoustic or combine acoustic folk instrumentation with various other sounds.
