Lebanese Customs
Lebanese Customs (Arabic: الجمارك اللبنانية ''Al-Jamarek Al-Lubnaniyah'') (French: Douanes Libanaises) is the government authority in Lebanon responsible for collecting customs duties and controlling the flow of goods in and out of the country. It operates under the Ministry of Finance. Lebanese Customs officers are stationed at all of the country's ports of entry which in addition to Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport includes the five land crossings with Syria and the seaports of Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, Tyre, and Jounieh. At these ports of entry, in order to enforce border control, Lebanese Customs works together with General Security, which operates under the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, the latter of which is responsible for controlling the movement of people. Lebanese Armed Forces
The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF; ), also known as the Lebanese Army (), is the national military of the Republic of Lebanon. It consists of three branches, the ground forces, the air force, and the navy. The motto of the Lebanese Armed Forces is "Honor, Sacrifice, Loyalty" (). The Ministry of Interior and Municipalities () in Lebanon is responsible for governorate, Qadaa, caza, municipalities, federation of municipalities and village matters, in addition to political parties and organizations. The ministry was created in the first post-Independence of Lebanon, independence government in 1943. In 2000, it was named the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities. General Security Directorate (Lebanon)
The General Security Directorate () is a Lebanese intelligence agency founded on July 21, 1921 and originally known as the "first bureau". On June 12, 1959, Decree-Law No. 139, in force from that date, was published. Under this decree the General Security becomes a branch depending on the power of the minister of interior and headed by a director general, as president. On December 16, 1959, Organizational Decree No. 2873 was published. It establishes a regional organization of general security and creates more branch, regional departments, border, maritime and air.
