Leandro Leivas
Leandro Leivas (born 6 July 1988) is a Uruguayan rugby union player who plays for the Seattle Seawolves in Major League Rugby (MLR). He was named in Uruguay's squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Leivas learned to play rugby at Stella Maris College. At the time of the 2015 Rugby World Cup he was working as a blacksmith and farrier. On 11 December 2018, he signed with professional Canadian club Toronto Arrows for the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Wing (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. Toronto Arrows R.F.C. is a rugby union club based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that plays in Major League Rugby. The Arrows team is an independent off-shoot of the Ontario Blues provincial programme and is funded by a group of private investors and supporters. History The team was founded as the Ontario Arrows in 2017 with the intent of joining the Major League Rugby (MLR) competition for the 2019 season. The Arrows debuted September 9, 2017, in a match against the Glendale Merlins losing 41–7.
