Leader Of The Christian Social Union In Bavaria
The Leader of the Christian Social Union (''Vorsitzender der Christlich-Sozialen Union'') is the most senior political figure within the Christian Social Union in Bavaria. Since 19 January 2019, the office has been held by Markus Söder; who is the 9th leader of the party. The Leader of the Christian Social Union is supported by a General Secretary, which since 2018 has been Markus Blume. Furthermore, the leader is supported by five deputy leaders, which currently are Kurt Gribl, Angelika Niebler, Dorothee Bär, Manfred Weber and Melanie Huml. Markus Thomas Theodor Söder (born 5 January 1967) is a German politician from Bavaria, Germany serving as List of Ministers-President of Bavaria, Minister-President of Bavaria since 2018 and Leader of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria, leader of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) since 2019. Ludwig Wilhelm Erhard (; 4 February 1897 – 5 May 1977) was a German politician and economist affiliated with the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, Christian Democratic Union (CDU), and Chancellor of Germany (1949–), chancellor of West Germany from 1963 until 1966. Erwin Huber (born 26 July 1946) is a German politician. He was chairman of the Christian Social Union (CSU) from 2007 to 2008. Early life Erwin Huber was born in Reisbach in the district of Dingolfing-Landau, Bavaria. He attended elementary school in Reisbach and a secondary modern in Dingolfing. Edmund Rüdiger Stoiber (born 28 September 1941) is a German politician who served as the 16th minister-president of the state of Bavaria between 1993 and 2007 and chairman of the Christian Social Union (CSU) between 1999 and 2007. Theodor Waigel (born 22 April 1939) is a German politician of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU). He represented Neu-Ulm in the Bundestag from 1976 to 2002.
