Lennie Gallant, CM is a Canadian singer-songwriter and instrumentalist from Prince Edward Island. His music crosses into the folk rock and country music genres, while celebrating the musical heritage of his home province. He has been presented with many awards for his performances and songwriting. Early life Gallant was born in Rustico, Prince Edward Island. His nephews Rowen and Caleb Gallant, the sons of his brother Mark, are also musicians associated with the folk band Ten Strings and a Goat Skin. Career Lennie Gallant began at an early age by playing guitar, harmonica and mandolin in local bands. Gallant has released fifteen albums (11 in English and 4 in French) of original songs which have won him a host of awards and nominations from the JUNOs, Les Prix Éloizes, and 19 East Coast Music Awards, including 2017 ECMA Entertainer of the Year. His double CD from his multimedia hit production, ''Searching For Abegweit'', which ran for over 200 shows, also won him an ECMA. ... Priscilla Herdman (born February 11, 1948) is an American folk singer, whom ''The New York Times'' called "one of the clearest and most compelling voices of contemporary folk music." Although she has written songs, she is notable chiefly for her interpretations of other artists' work. Early life Born in Eastchester, New York in 1948, she attended the University of Iowa, finishing her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. While working in the fashion industry, she began to play in the coffeehouses of Greenwich Village and the church basements of the Upper West Side, and toured in Europe. Lennie Gallant's ''LIVE'' is the fifth album from the French-Canadian singer/songwriter, and also his first live album, released in 2000. The songs were recorded at three concerts held in November 1999. At the time, tracks 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 were previously unrecorded songs. Kirsten Neuschäfer (born 23 June 1982) is a South African sailor specializing in high latitude and high adventure sailing. She is the winner of the 2022 Golden Globe Race, the first woman to win that race since it started in 1968; it also made her the first woman to win any round the world race by the three great capes, including solo and fully crewed races, non-stop or with stops; and the first South African sailor to win a round-the-world event.
