James Lawrie
James Lawrie (born 18 December 1990) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer. The striker represented Northern Ireland at youth level and won three senior caps. One of the most promising players to come through the Port Vale youth system in the 2000s, during the summer of 2009, he picked up interest from top-flight clubs. However, he was released by the club in the summer of 2010 after only featuring in a handful of games and signed with AFC Telford United. He was loaned out to Altrincham in 2011, signed permanently with the club in December that year, and helped the club to win promotion out of the Conference North via the play-offs in 2014. Lee Lawrie
Lee Oscar Lawrie (October 16, 1877 – January 23, 1963) was an American architectural sculptor and an important figure in the American sculpture scene preceding World War II. Over his long career of more than 300 commissions Lawrie's style evolved through Modern Gothic, to Beaux-Arts, Classicism, and, finally, into ''Moderne'' or Art Deco. He created a frieze on the Nebraska State Capitol building in Lincoln, Nebraska, including a portrayal of the announcement of the Emancipation Proclamation. He also created some of the architectural sculpture and his most prominent work, the free-standing bronze '' Atlas'' (installed 1937) at New York City's Rockefeller Center. Lawrie's work is associated with some of the United States' most noted buildings of the first half of the twentieth century. Paul Stewart Lawrie (born 1 January 1969) is a Scottish professional golfer who is best known for winning The Open Championship in 1999. He was a vice-captain for the European Ryder Cup team in 2016. Deborah Jane Lawrie (born 1953), known as Deborah Wardley while married, was the first woman to become a pilot with a major Australian airline after winning a landmark sex discrimination case against Ansett Airlines. Gawen Lawrie was a deputy governor of the American province of East Jersey from 1683 to 1686. Biography Of Scottish ancestry, Lawrie was born in England and was a resident and merchant in London for many years. Along with William Penn and Nicholas Lucas, Gawen Lawrie was a trustee for the legally bankrupt Edward Byllynge from 1675 to 1683. On 1 July 1676, Lawrie was one of the signers of the Quintipartite Deed that split New Jersey into West and East Jersey. In 1682 Lawrie became involved in East New Jersey as a trustee for the children of Arent Sonmans, one of the Proprietors. Thomas Rudyard was deputy governor under Governor Robert Barclay. Lawrence McMenemy MBE (born 26 July 1936) is an English retired football coach, best known for his spell as manager of Southampton. He is rated in the ''Guinness Book of Records'' as one of the twenty most successful managers in post-war English football. Playing career McMenemy was born in Gateshead. After serving in the Coldstream Guards he began his footballing career with Newcastle United although he never appeared in their first team. Alexander Greig Ellis Lawrie (19 June 1907 – 13 December 1978) was an Australian politician. Born in Maitland, New South Wales, he was educated at The Scots College in Sydney before moving to Evergreen in Queensland to become a grazier. He was an official of the Queensland Graziers' Association and served as Queensland State President of the Country Party 1960–1964. In 1963, he was elected to the Australian Senate as a Country Party Senator for Queensland. He remained a Senator until his retirement in 1975.
