Lawrence Mulenga
Tresford Lawrence Mulenga (born 21 August 1998) is a Zambian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Power Dynamos and the Zambia national team. Career Mulenga began his senior career with Kabwe Warriors in the Zambia Super League in 2014. In 2018, he moved to Power Dynamos. In 2023, he helped Power Dynamos win the 2022–23 Zambia Super League, and extended his contract with the club for 2 more seasons. International Mulenga debuted with the senior Zambia national team in a 1–0 friendly win over Gabon on 211 September 2018. He was the backup goalkeeper for the Zambia teams that won the 2019 and 2022 COSAFA Cup. He was called up to the national team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was Zambia's starting goalkeeper. The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (also referred to as AFCON 2023 or CAN 2023) is scheduled to be the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament is scheduled to be hosted by Ivory Coast, the second time the country would host the competition. The Confederation of African Football initially changed the dates of the tournament to June and July rather than the usual January, which first came into play in the 2019 tournament. The COSAFA Cup or COSAFA Senior Challenge Cup is an annual tournament for teams from Southern Africa organized by Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA), inaugurated after the ban against the Republic of South Africa had been lifted and the African Cup of Nations had been staged there in 1996.
