Lawrence E. Bennett
Lawrence Edward "Larry" Bennett (September 15, 1923 – March 9, 2016) was an American politician. Born in Roseton, in the town of Newburgh, New York, Bennett served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at Stauffer Chemical Company. Bennett served the Newburgh Town Council and as supervisor. Newburgh () is a Administrative divisions of New York#Town, town in Orange County, New York, United States. It forms part of the Kiryas Joel–Poughkeepsie–Newburgh metropolitan area, which is a part of the New York metropolitan area, and is a suburban satellite of the Newburgh, New York, urbanized city of Newburgh. The city of Newburgh was a part of the town prior to 1865. Stewart International Airport, New York Stewart International Airport is partially located within the township, and much of the land into which it could have been expanded has been turned into Stewart State Forest.
