Law Pak
Law Pak (25 May 1933 – 13 February 2024) was a Hong Kong-born football coach and Republic of China (Taiwan) international footballer. However, he spent his entire playing career in the British Hong Kong. As a coach, he coached teams from Hong Kong and Taiwan; he also resided in Taiwan temporarily but in recent years followed his daughter to migrate to the United States. In 2014, during an interview, he claimed that he, Mok Chun Wah and Lau Tim () were the only surviving gold medalists of the 1958 Asian Games football tournament. Law died in New York on 13 February 2024, at the age of 90. Club career Law was a player of KMB in the 1950s. He was also employed by the owner of the football club, Kowloon Motor Bus, as a bus station manager, according to an interview of Law by John C.W. Lee (). Football At The Asian Games
The men's football tournament has been a regular Asian Games sporting event since the 1951 edition, while the women's tournament began in 1990. History The first Asian Games had football tournament. Since the 2002 Asian Games, age limit for men teams is under-23 plus up to three overage players for each squad, same as the age limit in football competitions at the Summer Olympics. Although Kazakhstan is a member of the Olympic Council of Asia, they cannot participate in football due to their football federation KFF has been a member of the UEFA since 2002. Koo Luam Khen
Koo Luam Khen (or Khoo Luan Khen, , born 27 March 1951) is a Malaysian former footballer. A Malaysia national team player, he participated in the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. He was the former coach of Hong Kong national team, Hong Kong League teams Instant-Dict and Sun Hei. He won "Best Coach of the Year" in Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards 2003 and 2005. In 2004, he was inducted in Olympic Council of Malaysia's Hall of Fame for 1972 Summer Olympics football team. Hong Kong League XI
The Hong Kong League XI, also known as the Hong Kong XI or Hong Kong League Selection, is a football team which represents the Hong Kong First Division League in exhibition matches, mainly the Lunar New Year Cup. The team is selected from the top players in the Hong Kong First Division League. Both Hong Kong and foreign players, including those from mainland China, can be included in the team. In recent years, to order to enable local footballers to gain more international experience, the Hong Kong Football Association has fielded the Hong Kong national football team in matches which were previously played by the Hong Kong League XI. Therefore, the League XI has not formed a squad for a few years. However, the team returned and competed in the 2007 Lunar New Year Cup. The 1968 AFC Asian Cup was the 4th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The 1960 AFC Asian Cup was the 2nd edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The finals were hosted by South Korea from 14 October to 23 October 1960. Football At The 1960 Summer Olympics
The football tournament at the 1960 Summer Olympics was held from 26 August to 10 September in 1960 throughout Italy. The tournament featured 16 men's national teams from four continental confederations. Starting with this edition, the competition's format was changed: rather than a knockout tournament like in the previous Olympic Games, the 16 teams were drawn into four groups of four and each group played a round-robin tournament, in a similar format to that instituted in the 1958 FIFA World Cup, which persists to the present day. At the end of the group stage, the first-ranked teams of each group advanced to the semi-finals, and culminating with the gold medal match in Rome on 10 September 1960.
