Lavren Yukaghir
Lauren Eve Mayberry (born 7 October 1987) is a Scottish musician who is the vocalist and percussionist of the pop band CHVRCHES. In CHVRCHES, Mayberry co-writes and co-produces the songs with Iain Cook and Martin Doherty, and sings as the lead vocalist. She also plays drums and keyboards. Mayberry is a soprano. Outside of music, she is an active feminist and philanthropist. She achieved considerable commercial success with Chvrches, releasing four studio albums to date – ''The Bones of What You Believe'' (2013), ''Every Open Eye'' (2015), '' Love Is Dead'' (2018) and ''Screen Violence'' (2021). Their 2012 single, "The Mother We Share", won the Popjustice £20 Music Prize for Best Pop Song in 2013, and in 2019 collaborated with Marshmello on the song " Here with Me". Thornhill, Stirling
Thornhill () is a village in the Scottish council area of Stirling. It lies 14 miles north west of Stirling itself, south of Callander, east of Aberfoyle and west of Doune. Historically part of Perthshire, the village is in the civil parish of Kincardine and the church parish of Norrieston (separated ecclesiastically from Kincardine in 1877), named from the much earlier village of Norrieston, which lay a little to the east of Thornhill. It is situated on a slight elevation at the western edge of the Carse of Stirling, an area of flat agricultural land which forms the upper part of the floodplain of the River Forth. ''Vicious Creature'' is the debut solo studio album by Scottish singer and musician Lauren Mayberry, released on 6 December 2024 by EMI Records. After four albums as the lead singer of synth-pop band Chvrches since 2011, Mayberry announced in 2023 that she would be pursuing a solo project. Work on the album started in early 2022, with Mayberry citing Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Annie Lennox, Jenny Lewis, Sinéad O'Connor as influences. "Here with Me" is a song by American DJ Marshmello, featuring Scottish synthpop band Chvrches. It was released on March 8, 2019 alongside an animated lyric video. The official music video was released on April 5, 2019. Composition "Here with Me" is composed in E major. The song was called reminiscent of Marshmello's earlier electronic production work, with the opening being "markedly restrained" that "provides a rare chance for him to experiment with guitars." Popjustice £20 Music Prize
The Popjustice £20 Music Prize, also known as the Popjustice Twenty Quid Prize, is an annual prize awarded by music website Popjustice to recognise the best British pop single of the previous year. The prize was conceived by Popjustice founder Peter Robinson in 2003 as a reaction to what he perceived as the pompous and elitist nature of the existing Mercury Prize, which recognises the best album of the previous year, and in particular its exclusion of pop music acts in favour of those from more esoteric genres. The shortlist for the Popjustice prize is announced in September of each year and the winner named the following month, to coincide with the presentation of the Mercury Prize. Popjustice gives a token prize of £20 to the winner of its award, in contrast to the £20,000 given to the winner of the Mercury Prize. "The Mother We Share" is the debut single by Scottish indietronica band Chvrches from their debut studio album, ''The Bones of What You Believe''. ''Screen Violence'' is the fourth studio album by Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches. It was released on 27 August 2021 through EMI Records in the UK and Glassnote Records in the US. Lead single " He Said She Said" was released on 19 April. The album was announced alongside the second single, "How Not to Drown", a collaboration with Robert Smith, lead singer of the Cure.
