or is a municipality in Troms county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Tennevoll. Other villages in Lavangen include Fossbakken and Spansdalen (in the inland areas) and Kjeiprød, Røkenes, Låternes, Tennevoll, Hesjevika, Soløy, and Å (surrounding the fjord). The municipality is the 266th largest by area out of the 357 municipalities in Norway. Lavangen is the 335th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 986. Tennevoll
or is the administrative centre of Lavangen Municipality in Troms county, Norway. The village lies about straight east of the town of Harstad. Tennevoll is located at the end of the Lavangen fjord, along the river Spansdalselva, which flows through the Spansdalen valley. The tall mountain ''Reinbergen'' sits just to the east of the village. Birch
A birch is a thin-leaved deciduous hardwood tree of the genus ''Betula'' (), in the family Betulaceae, which also includes alders, hazels, and hornbeams. In physical geography, a fjord (also spelled fiord in New Zealand English; ) is a long, narrow sea inlet with steep sides or cliffs, created by a glacier. Fjords exist on the coasts of Antarctica, the Arctic, and surrounding landmasses of the northern and southern hemispheres. Norway's coastline is estimated to be long with its nearly 1,200 fjords, but only long excluding the fjords. Formation A true fjord is formed when a glacier cuts a U-shaped valley by ice segregation and abrasion of the surrounding bedrock. Lavangen (fjord)
or is a fjord in Lavangen Municipality and Salangen Municipality in Troms county, Norway. The majority of the fjord is in Lavangen Municipality (hence the name of the municipality). The long fjord flows to the northwest and empties into the larger Astafjorden. The deepest point in the fjord reaches about below sea level. Troms Og Finnmark
Troms og Finnmark (; ; ; ) was a county in northern Norway that existed from 2020 to 2023. The county was established on 1 January 2020 as the result of a regional reform. It was the largest county by area in Norway, encompassing about , and was formed by the merger of the former Finnmark and Troms counties in addition to Tjeldsund Municipality from Nordland county. The administrative centre of the county was split between two towns. The political and administrative offices were based in the city of Tromsø (the seat of the old Troms county).
