Laurin Mincy (born February 3, 1992) is an American professional women's basketball player. Career High school At University High in Newark Mincy was a household name. In her freshman year she was the first freshman ever named to New Jersey All-State team and in the same year led University High School to its first state title. Her accomplishments in High School include playing in the McDonald's All-American Game in 2010 after her senior year being a 2 time New Jersey Star-Ledger Player of the Year (2008, '09) 2009 New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year. She was also named a "Girl Athlete to Remember" by nj.com as one of the best of the decade and was two-time first team All-Tri State, Three-time All-County, three-time All-Conference and the 2007 Essex County Player of the Year, along with 2 state championships. 2017–18 WNBL Season
The 2017–18 WNBL season was the 38th season of the competition since its establishment in 1981. The regular season began on 5 October 2017, with the Melbourne Boomers visiting the Dandenong Rangers. The Sydney Uni Flames were the defending champions but were defeated in the Semi Finals by Townsville. The Townsville Fire took home their third WNBL championship after defeating Melbourne, 2–0. This season sees the return to television, with Fox Sports broadcasting the WNBL for the first time since 2015. Spalding once again provided equipment including the official game ball, whilst iAthletic took over supplying team apparel. The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is the pre-eminent professional women's basketball league in Australia. It is currently composed of eight teams. The league was founded in 1981 and is the women's counterpart to the National Basketball League (NBL). Several WNBL teams have NBL counterparts. Cayla George (née Francis; born 1 May 1989) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Las Vegas Aces of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was a member of the Australian Women's basketball team (Opals) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Opals were eliminated after losing to the USA in the quarterfinals.
