''Doxocopa laure'', the silver emperor, is a species of butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. Description ''Doxocopa laure'' has a wingspan reaching about . The upperside of the wing is dark brown with a slight bluey iridescence, with a white central band on the hindwing, and an orange forewing on males. For females, the upperside is dark brown with no iridescence, with a white median band on both wings, ending with a yellow spot at the hindwing leading edge. On both sexes, the underside of the hindwing is greyish with a silver iridescence. Laure was an art model in France known for her work with artist Édouard Manet. She is best known for posing as the black maid offering the white nude figure a bouquet of flowers in Manet's 1863 painting ''Olympia''. Biography Little is known about Laure. She has been described as African or Caribbean and her last name is unknown. Art historian Griselda Pollock suggested that she met the artist Édouard Manet while working as a nursemaid in the Tuileries Garden in Paris. Another theory suggests that Jeanne Duval, who was in a relationship with Manet's friend Charles Baudelaire, introduced Manet and Laure. Ashish Rana Magar (born 25 June 1993), known professionally as Laure, is a Nepalese rapper and television personality. He presented his rapping through a rap battle on YouTube which gained him popularity. He was the most searched Nepalese celebrity on Google in the year 2013. Personal life Ashish Rana Magar was born on 25 June 1993 in Pokhara, Nepal. Since Grade 6, Laure developed a keen interest in rapping. He completed his school life from the LA Higher Secondary School, then his Higher Secondary Education Board, higher education from Sagarmatha College. Laure Manaudou (; born 9 October 1986) is a retired French Olympic, world and European champion swimmer. She has held the world record in freestyle events between 200 and 1500 meter. She is the older sister of Florent Manaudou who is also an Olympic gold medalist swimmer. Career 2004 Olympics She won the gold medal in the women's 400-meter freestyle at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Colette Peignot (October 8, 1903 – November 7, 1938) was a French writer and poet. She is most known by the pseudonym ''Laure'', but also wrote under the self-chosen name Claude Araxe, derived from a phase in Virgil's ''Aeneid''.
