Lauramie, Indiana
Stockwell, originally named Lauramie, is a census-designated place in Lauramie Township, Tippecanoe County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. It was once a stop along the Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Lafayette Railroad, but the rail line has since been removed. The community is part of the Lafayette, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. History An old variant name of the community was called Bakers Corner. A post office was established under the name Bakers Corners in 1853, and was renamed to Stockwell in 1859. It is still currently in operation. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and location information about more than two million physical and cultural features, encompassing the United States and its territories; the Compact of Free Association, associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau; and Antarctica. McCutcheon High School
McCutcheon High School is a public high school in Wea Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, with a Lafayette postal address, and in proximity to Lafayette. It is a part of the Tippecanoe School Corporation. Its attendance boundary includes the municipalities of Clarks Hill, Dayton, and Shadeland, and the census-designated places of Romney, Stockwell, and West Point. The Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Chicago Railway (CISL&C) was a railroad in the United States. The CISL&C resulted from the 1880 corporate restructuring of the bankrupt Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Lafayette Railroad (IC&L).
